Art Exhibit at St. Alban’s

St. Alban’s is proud to be an exhibit location for Art in Daily Spaces – an art exhibit organized by Community Art for Everyone (CAFE) with support from  ArtsFairfax Art in Daily Spaces, now underway, is a temporary exhibit featuring works by 21 artists in places where people tend to congregate during their daily lives.

The exhibit at St. Alban’s, located in the church narthex (or entry), features fiber art by Jan Barrett, and landscapes in watercolor and pastels by Mairi Thorne.  Their work is scheduled to be on display through the month of April and the narthex is open Monday-Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm.

St. Alban’s Facilities Manager, Clark T. Cat, supervises the exhibit installation.

Other locations, which include exhibits of landscape paintings, abstract paintings, pop art, photography, fiber art, and glass art can be viewed at George Mason Regional Library, Beanetics Coffee Roasters, Mason Government Center, John Calvin Presbyterian Church, and RAMP Optimal Performance and Wellness.

Father Jeff

The Rev. Jeff Shankles came to St. Alban’s in 2005 as assistant rector, and eventually became rector in 2013. He and his wife, Kate, have two adult children, Audrey and William.
