The Bible in the Movies

This four-part series will be in-person in the parish hall.

In this series we will take a look at how scripture has been “brought to life”  in the movies starting with the silent era and continuing to some of today’s movies.

Movies give us insight into the current culture – what is important to society, what is popular with society.  By extension, film and television give us insight into current understanding of religion and the role religion and faith play in society. Each evening will bring short clips of movies that represent the culture, times and theology of the era.

Unfortunately, because the presentation involves showing clips from movies that are under copyright protection, this series cannot be streamed or viewed online.
